Microferm Limited, based in Malvern, Worcestershire, was established in
1981 and specialises in Biotechnology products for agriculture and related
industries.The company has a dominant position in biological silage additives and utilises the most advanced biotechnology to produce consistently high quality forages over a wide range of conditions. This success has been recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture in awarding 'multicategory' approval to its products. The incorporation of Bacteriophages (specific bacterial viruses) to control unwanted infection in silage is patented and unique to the company. Over 50 million tonnes of silage have been treated since their introduction in 1987. The product range also includes plant growth compounds, used to stimulate crop yield and seedling, germination, waste treatment products, probiotics and rumen stimulants. Development products include human and animal food supplements, in particular bioavailable trace elements. The company has modern packaging facilities and is able to produce water soluble powder, granular and liquids to meet a customer's specific needs.
